Graduate level student-consultants will develop an action plan that addresses IT and software problems currently faced by your organization.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Report and Presentation: Students will submit a detailed report oA written report detailing the problem, recommended solutions, and action plan. Teams will also give a presentation where briefly discussing the report with Q&A. Organization representative(s) are invited to attend these presentations

Requirements

Starting this May, a pair of graduate-level student-consultants will spend 40 hours researching and developing an action plan that addresses an IT or software problem currently faced by your organization.

Your organization will be matched with a student-consultant team who's skills and education complement your organization's problem or needs.

For example, Project Management graduate students may implement their expertise to architect, design, and implement software systems for predictive and agile life cycles.

Examples projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership in introducing agile software development processes in your organization.
  • Creating a workbook with templates that your organization can use for risk analysis.
  • Estimating costs and related tasks for an IT project.
  • Designing or redesigning an internal system or process related to planning, organizing and executing projects, team and resource management, leadership, and/or change management.
  • Building web and mobile applications.
  • Designing databases.
  • Writing software code.
